It took me awhile to realize it but I barely have enough time on my hands as it is for my studies and work, even less so to run Ink-Cafe. In the end Ink-Cafe turned into but a blog of mine (the Private section) and that didn’t exactly fulfill my original idea of Ink-Cafe either.

So after careful thought – not to mention sending Ink-Cafe into maintenance mode for awhile – I’ve decided that I’ll split my personal life away from Ink-Cafe and keep this site as a portfolio of mine or a sandbox for me to experiment with.

That being said, Ink-Cafe is very much still alive, I’ve just moved my blog to a separate sub-site.

Also, I’m beginning to dabble myself into photography a little. Originally as part of my class assignments and then my job assignments but eventually for my personal enjoyment as well. Some of the photographs I’ve taken can be found on here, on Inked Photos.

I notice some parts of the website is currently not working properly and I’m working on them. However, I’d really appreciate it if you could drop me a message using the contact form for any bugs that you might find on the site.

I’m very satisfied with the current template I’ve chosen, and it wasn’t too tough to configure it to work properly either. Partly because I’ve been configuring the previous templates that I was testing as well and when it came to this, it was mostly just a matter of figuring out where to paste the right line of code.

Configuring this template didn’t take too long and I am subtly pleased with the result as well. Though I’ve already seen some minor quirks that I aim to work out, I probably won’t get to it any time soon as all these codes are just as hard to understand as German is to me.

Hopefully, with the changes that I have in mind and the changes that I’ve already done to the site, I’ll be able to update Ink-Cafe more frequently. Gosh knows I need to do that.

Also, shoutouts to the people that helped me. Mr. Mazda Amiryar from CaptainMazda.com, the WordPress support community and the biggest contributor of all: Google.

I’m planning to change the theme of the site to something more suitable for me in the upcoming days, and the theme being used right now may very well be changed in the coming days. A period of experimentation is what I’m deeming this Summer to be.

Suggestions are not only welcome but hoped for. Feedback would be great these coming days as I twiddle and play with the themes and settings.

Keep in mind that I have no prior WordPress related coding experience and everything that I’m doing right now is done through intensive Google searching and trial and error, so changes will probably take time.

I scored a perfect GPA of 4.0.

In all fairness, I will say that the classes I took were fairly easy. They were at times challenging, but far from being a crazily stressed out semester.

I had times to do my work, study, write for the University Chronicle, hit the gym a few times a week and even go for a free movie almost every week at the Atwood Memorial Center. It was, by all means, a very enjoyable semester. Ups and downs abound of course.

Back in Malaysia I would celebrate the end of a semester by having a small glass of wine with my mother. Here in the States, I am not of age to purchase or consume alcoholic drinks and neither do I really wish to as the significance wouldn’t be there.

Instead I celebrated my results today by going to the Student Health Services in the morning to have my injury checked, spent the latter part of the morning and whole of the afternoon in class and finally having a large bar of “Snickers” and a bottle of “Crush Orange”.

Yes, I have the tendency to celebrate or treat myself to a big bar of “Snickers” every once in awhile. Unhealthy I know, but nonetheless just so absolutely delicious! Sinfully delicious as some people normally say.

Perhaps if I did not have this crazily intensive class going on I might have thought of some other way to treat myself for getting through my last semester. I could have asked my housemate (whom is a pilot) to take me up to the skies, or I could have asked my ex-lecturer to take me out to one of those 18 above nights, or even just by going to the Hockey Stadium for a night of skating.

However, instead of all those wonderful possibilities, I will be spending as much time as possible after I finish this post dedicated to revising and preparing my presentation for my finals this coming Tuesday.

Nonetheless! I am toasting to myself through this public post! Which in itself is a form of celebration to me!

However, today I am here to celebrate something wonderful that has just happened to me.

I am awarded (or perhaps the proper term is given) the William Marcellous Lindgren Scholarship. I won’t divulge the specific amount, but suffice to say my Fall 2009 semester should be fully covered. I think most I have to pay is… a few hundred bucks out of the original amount.

However, I do believe that there are certain bugs and such with Ink-Cafe right now. I’ll be going through it slowly to fix them in the coming days. I’ve already found two, and am already attempting to find ways to fix it.

But let’s not spoil this moment shall we? Ink-Cafe, is UP and RUNNING!

HI! Hahah. I’ve arrived at New Jersey for an estimate of twelve hours already. I reached the New York Newark International Airport at about 8.30pm Malaysian time, and got to my brother-in-law’s New Jersey home about one hour later. US Customs didn’t prove to be any trouble at all and I got by everything quite quickly this time, unlike my previous visit where things took quite some time.

The good news is that there’s Wifi here. Unfortunately for me however only my in-laws have the password and they went out for work before I could wake up and ask for it. So I guess it’ll be another 12 hours before I will be online properly.

So until then, this will be all I’m posting. I’ve arrived at the States safe and sound, and a big thank you to those that sent me off and all the well-wishers out there. =)

What this means is that unfortunately for now, Ink Cafe probably won’t be having any new news or reviews posted online. Perhaps in the following week when I have settled down in New Jersey and have some proper time to myself I’ll be able to dedicate more time to Ink Cafe.
