My Guitar Weeps
Mar 2, 2009 Featured, Literature, Poetry
My guitar gently weeps,
As I clumsily play it,
These secrets that I keep,
Every day I slowly bleed,
Your broken wings,
My tainted strings,
Mended, you fly,
Unchanged, I cry,
I gaze upon your silhouette,
And clumsily strum away,
Things in my past I wish to forget,
But this song goes a long way,
My guitar gently weeps,
For the secrets that I keep,
To be that for you,
How we both wished to be true.
Author’s Note: Somewhat inspired by the classic Beatles song “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” and also by “That For You” by Matt Wertz .
