BEDlight for BlueEYES

Rock bands are somewhat similar to Fast Food chains. They pop up everywhere, and they’re almost always the same. They would have some slight variations depending on the area (such as Thailand McDs having pork burgers) but they would generally be the same. That’s one of the reasons why people like Fast Food chains I believe, because no matter where you go you’ll know quite well what you’re going to get.

BEDlight for BlueEYES is an alternative rock band. Alternative Rock Bands are quite common these days, so at times it’s quite hard for them to make it big because they sound like each other somewhat. They’d have to have really good publicity, really awesome skills but most of all, they have to be unbelievably lucky. Some of the rock bands that never make it big are as good as those that does.

BEDlight for BlueEYES caught my attention when I heard their cover of Jumper by Third Eye Blind. For those that can get their hands on a copy of that song, please do because it’s really awesome. It’s part of the Punk Goes 90s compilation.

I went and got myself a copy of BEDlight’s latest album, Life on Life’s Terms, and I think it’s actually quite decent. I have to admit that they did not blow my mind away, but at the same time their songs are quite good. They don’t wander too far from the average alternative rock formula, but at the same time they have a distinctive style to their songs as well. I personally enjoy their slower songs the most, because I feel that the lead singer’s voice is actually quite nice. But some of their louder and faster songs can drown out the lead vocalists’ uniqueness.

I think the songs that best show off this band would probably be Waste of My Time, Walk with Me, Broken Door and Michael. Those songs are pretty good. The others are nice too, but if you’re interested to know what you’ll be in for, those four songs would depict quite a clear picture.
